About Whimsy
I started Whimsy 12 years ago as a creative outlet while raising my son, Liam. What began in my garage has blossomed into a Central City shop rooted in my craft background. Unfortumately after two and a half years I've had to close this shop and move the studio home.
In my shed studio I'm making Drum Lampshades and handmade cushions to stock The Woolston Emporium in Christchurch.

We have to reduce the amount stuff we buy, by being a conscious consumer. Buy less, but also buy quality items that are built to last. Whimsy promotes quality over quantity.
Reuse
I source pre-loved lamp bases and get them safety checked by an electrician.
Recycle
I adore vintage fabrics and prefer to use these yo make lampshades and cushions. As a keen upcycler, the store is a showcase for how to repurpose old into new.
